UAV, GIS, and Petrographic Analysis for Beachrock Mapping and Preliminary Analysis in the Compressional Geotectonic Setting of Epirus, Western Greece

Beachrocks are generally mapped on the coastline surface and/or in a low depth subtidal zone coastlines and cemented chiefly by carbonate material. Their outcrops may vary from tenth of meters to kilometers length. Along Epirus coast, Greece, beachrocks laying for more than ten kilometers. In present work, we used Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), situ sampling, Geographical Information System (GIS) map three beachrock areas with length 500 m 600 each. synergy extended mineralogical petrographic analyses, provide preliminary data about geographical distribution differences these beachrocks. Furthermore, first time, tried investigate correlation between geotectonic setting broader area extent, shape, parameters. The laboratory analyses proved that belong similar depositional marine–vadose environment. Despite variations textural petrographic, features among specimen’s permit us consider sedimentary rocks as not uniform outcrop. It is indicated formation cementation progress study both controlled active reverse faults diapiric or tectonic anticlines.
